Webinar Series: Optimizing Pain Management in Knee Arthroplasty - Exploring Modern Nerve Block Techniques with Live Demonstration

Nov. 19, 2024
7 – 8:30 p.m. CT
Online Webinar (free)

This webinar will explore the innervation of the knee and the most effective nerve blocks for pain management in knee arthroplasty. We will examine both established and emerging regional anesthesia techniques, including genicular and popliteal plexus blocks, and discuss how these approaches can be seamlessly integrated into Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols to improve patient outcomes. This session will also feature a live demonstration of key nerve block techniques.

Objectives:

1. Review the anatomy and innervation essential for knee function.
2. Evaluate the most common regional anesthesia techniques used in total knee arthroplasty.
3. Describe emerging regional anesthesia methods, including genicular and popliteal plexus blocks.
4. Discuss the integration of regional anesthesia into Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols to improve patient outcomes.
